VETERINARY REGISTRARAbout Dr Courtney Reddrop
BSc (Biol Sci) Hons, BSc (Vet Biol) BVMS MANZCVS (Emergency & Critical Care)With more than 16 years of experience in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, Dr Courtney Reddrop founded SAVES to provide diagnostic ultrasound and emergency expertise directly to veterinary practices across the ACT.

A Unique Journey
Originally trained as a biochemist, Courtney spent almost a decade working in medical research and human pathology before pursuing his lifelong ambition of becoming a veterinarian. This scientific background continues to influence his clinical practice, with a strong focus on evidence-based medicine, critical thinking and practical decision making.
Emergency & Critical Care
Since graduating from Murdoch University, Courtney has dedicated his career exclusively to Emergency and Critical Care.
His experience spans emergency and referral hospitals throughout Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT, including senior clinical and leadership positions, advanced Emergency & Critical Care residency training, and national education roles.
Education & Leadership
Alongside clinical practice, Courtney has remained committed to advancing the profession through education and leadership.
He has served as President of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists Emergency & Critical Care Chapter, developed national education programs, mentors veterinarians preparing for MANZCVS examinations, and delivers RECOVER CPR training throughout Australia.
Research & Evidence-Based Practice
Courtney has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and was awarded the Australian Veterinary Practitioner Journal Atwell Award for Best Original Study in 2024. His ongoing involvement in research reflects a commitment to continually improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.
Today
Through SAVES, Courtney partners with veterinary practices by providing mobile diagnostic ultrasound, emergency assistance, complex case support and clinical education.
Whether assisting with a difficult emergency, performing abdominal ultrasound, mentoring a veterinary team or discussing a challenging case over the phone, his goal remains the same:
Helping practices provide exceptional care while keeping patients where they belong—within their own hospital whenever possible.
