About SAVES

SAVES (Small Animal Veterinary Emergency Service) is a visiting veterinary service providing mobile diagnostic ultrasound, emergency assistance and clinical support to veterinary practices throughout the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

SAVES operates within participating registered veterinary premises and is not an emergency hospital or separately registered veterinary premises.

SAVES does not accept animals directly from the general public. Pet owners requiring urgent veterinary care should contact their regular veterinarian or an appropriate emergency veterinary hospital.

The information and professional services described on this website are primarily intended for registered veterinary professionals and veterinary practices.

Veterinary Practices & Patient Care

SAVES works collaboratively with participating veterinary practices. The host veterinary practice retains the primary veterinarian-client-patient relationship and responsibility for the patient's ongoing and aftercare.

Services are provided within participating veterinary premises where appropriate facilities, staffing, equipment and continuing-care arrangements are available.

SAVES may decline or modify a requested service where the clinical requirements of the patient, available facilities or other circumstances make the proposed service inappropriate.
